It possesses excellent facilities and sophisticated equipments to provide students, the best possible education with training to develop adequate practical skills during the course of study. The Laboratory is well equipped to cater the needs of students. It has modern equipment like Galvanometer, Spectrometer, Potentiometer, Advanced Laser Equipment, and Ultrasonic Interferometer. The students are instructed to learn through the experiments in the areas of optics, heat, electricity, acoustics, electronics and material science. A separate darkroom is available to conduct experiments in spectrometer and laser.

Research at Physics Department aims to elevate new ideas, and formulate enduring knowledge. We incessantly strive to enhance an academic environment, where students and scholars inspired to do their best possible work. It is collective attempts that make this department such a vibrant place to learn, to work, and to explore. Ultimately, the mission of this department is to expand human knowledge and profit society through research integrated with education. We investigate the most challenging, basic problems in science and technology such as Non linear optical crystals, Smart materials, Polymer composites, Nanotechnology, Spectroscopy, Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors and Acoustic.
Various research projects are submitted with various funding agencies for carrying out research projects.
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU)
The Department had an MOU with the Advanced Research Centre for Health, Environment and Space (ARCHES) situated in Trieste, Italy to carry out joint research.
