The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in the year 1995 to render services to the student community to meet the growing global challenges. The department offers B.E Computer Science and Engineering and M.E Computer Science and Engineering. The department is well equipped with new hardware and software laboratories with internet and WI-FI connectivity. With a team of dedicated, experienced and qualified faculty members, the department has witnessed tremendous growth in academics and research. Major research areas include Image Processing, Multimedia Mining, Cloud Computing, Network Security and Wireless Networks. The Department has organized many Faculty Development Programs, Workshops and Short term training programs sponsored by AICTE.
To conduct special seminars covering latest developments and trends in the field of Computer Science, a fully equipped Seminar Hall is attached with the department. The equipments cover Over Head Projector, LCD Projector, and a Public Addressing System. The scrupulous learning environment has helped make students job-ready. The department has a well-equipped hardware and software lab. Year on year, our students have produced good quality projects
The Department Library has over 750 books covering a wide range of subjects. The Digital Library has vast materials related to the subjects in the curriculum and for research which can be assessed by the students at WI-FI enabled classrooms and through internet. Focusing on research, the Post-Graduate students actively involve in research across various areas of Computer Science. As part of the curriculum they also periodically publish their work in National and International Conferences.
The Department will expand its crucial role within the academic and intellectual development strategy of the University. The Department will be noted for its commitment to applied research, current technological expertise, relevant service to the community and geographic region, and innovative classroom practices and offering courses that will enhance the intellectual capacity and career opportunities for our U.G and P.G students, and will provide essential computer literacy skills for other disciplinary students.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is a community of faculty, staff and students focused in the disciplines of computer science. Our mission is to achieve excellence through outstanding teaching, cutting edge research and active service to the community. We seek to provide a flexible and proactive environment that promotes innovative thinking, diversity and ethical behaviour in order to capitalize on the dynamic growth of computer and information technology and its applications to the welfare of our society.
The objective of the Department is to prepare future generation computer professionals for long-term careers in research, technical development, and applications. The curriculum emphasises on program design, analysis and implementation, with both a strong theoretical foundation and relevant practical component, covering most aspects of computing and computer communications
