EVENTS ORGANIZED
The Department is always effervescent with activities related to science and technology. Some of the important events organized by the Department are
- Science Day celebration on every year at Mahendra Engineering College.
- One day workshop on Environment and Pollution Awareness (Aug-2004) sponsored by AICTE.
PROJECT UNDERTAKEN:
The interest is expanded to use natural eco-friendly inhibitors for controlling mild steel corrosion in acidic medium.
- The study of inhibition effect of benzotriazole in 1N citric acid medium on mild steel. It was extended by continuing the same project in sulphuric acid medium.
- The study of inhibition effect of cotton seeds and peel as inhibitor for mild steel corrosion in acid medium.
- The study of corrosion behaviour of mild steel in acidic medium with FORMAZAN derivatives.
- The study of effect of Adhathoda vasica (AV) extract as mild steel corrosion inhibitor in acid medium.
RESEARCH WORK:
The Department started research work a analyzing water sample. Water samples from various places in and around our college area were collected and analyzed in the Chemistry Laboratory. The work is in progress.
